While AIDS affects people, cats can get a virus called feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) - commonly referred to as Feline AIDS, because the effects are similar to those in humans. There are several similarities between human AIDS and FIV but also some differences.

While we are talking about feline viruses, there is another that is very important to your cat's health. It is also passed between cats and is called Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
